The Pipeline: November 3, 2026
Hi there,
A service-minded sediment filter, plumbing apprentice honors, and an ASPE show-floor recap make this week’s short list.
🔦 Fun Fact
A British thermal unit is approximately the heat needed to raise one pound of liquid water by one degree Fahrenheit. It measures energy, while Btu per hour describes a rate of heating, a useful distinction when reading water-heater specifications.
😆 Laugh of the Day
Why did the plumber bring a calendar to work?
To keep track of the drain dates.
🔧 Webstone Puts Service Access Into a Sediment Filter
Webstone’s new sediment filter combines particle capture with a multi-position handle for operation, bypass, cleaning, flushing, and downstream isolation. The product announcement lists several connection styles in 3/4-inch and 1-inch sizes. If you are comparing options for a tight installation, maintenance access deserves space on the checklist alongside connection type.
🏆 PHCC Recognizes Plumbing Apprentices and Instructors
PHCC’s CONNECT awards recognized plumbing instructor Ben Gorham and Plumbing Apprentice of the Year Daniel Boyles. Michael Goldey Jr. took first place in the national plumbing apprentice contest. The event also announced $227,500 in scholarships across the Foundation and National Auxiliary, highlighting support for the next generation rather than a currently open application round.
🏢 ASPE Recaps a Busy Plumbing-design Expo
ASPE’s October convention in Oklahoma City brought together engineers, contractors, master plumbers, and code officials. Its newly published recap describes more than 280 exhibitors and an Innovation Wall featuring products from nearly 60 companies. For installers working with design teams, the recap is a useful window into the products and conversations reaching the specification desk.
A little thought about future service can save a lot of awkward work later.
