The Airflow: October 20, 2026
Hi there,
Scholarship winners, shop-to-field lessons, and a new commercial cooler give you three ways to look beyond the next service call.
🔦 Fun Fact
A temperature change of one kelvin is the same size as a change of one degree Celsius. The starting points differ: zero kelvin is absolute zero, or −273.15°C, not the freezing point of water.

🎓 Women in HVACR and Carrier Award $55,000 in Scholarships
Women in HVACR and Carrier have awarded eleven students $5,000 each toward technical education. 🤝 Contractors Compare Notes on Getting Work from Shop to Field
More than 50 HVAC professionals from 21 companies attended the Unified Group’s Construction Forum, covering prefab costs, coordination changes, and workforce development. A shop tour and office-to-field discussions put the focus on how work actually moves between teams. One idea to borrow: review how a field change gets recorded and passed back to the shop before it becomes rework.
🏭 EVAPCO Adds a Double Stack Spray Cooler
EVAPCO has expanded its eco-Air range with a factory-assembled Double Stack Spray Cooler aimed at demanding heat-rejection applications such as data centers and industrial processes. The manufacturer says spray assistance and the stacked layout address capacity and space constraints, and lists CTI-certified dry capacity. For commercial teams comparing options, review the actual design conditions and water requirements rather than treating a smaller footprint as the whole specification.
A lesson shared between the shop and the field can save the next crew a callback.
